Advanced Office Systems (AOS) is the largest office furniture company in Columbus and the Midwest, offering a single-stop solution for end-users, contractors, and customers. AOS partners with more than 100 office furniture dealers across the country and ten manufacturing companies, completing over 1,000 projects yearly. Our commercial services include office furniture installation and reconfiguration, project management, and storage (15,000 square-foot warehouse). On a Sunday in March 2011, Matt Doyle was at home with his family when he received a call from an old friend and ex-coworker, asking if he wanted to grab lunch. He had not heard from Cris Ballou in over a year. It was a little strange to get a call from Ballou, but Doyle decided to go grab lunch with his old coworker a few hours later. The two found out that each was searching for a new business venture. Ballou, one of the founders of KI Cincinnati and Steelcase, had recently separated from his business associate, and Doyle was looking for a new job. His old friend had lost his job due to his company going out of business. Cris was looking to start a new office furniture business and invited Doyle to co-own it with him. They had a previous working experience of 9 years in Columbus, Ohio, at Thomas W. Ruff Office Furniture, where Doyle was a sales manager and Ballou was a general manager.
