Every student at AIMS has the potential to reach their full potential as an independent learner, artist, and creative thinker. Participation-based physical education classes are available to sixth and seventh graders for nine weeks and one semester, respectively. They can get creative and show their fitness level through these activities. Activity Exercise Cardiovascular endurance Personal training This academic year marks Mrs. Schemmel's sixteen years as a teacher and fifteen of those years at AIMS. She studied physical education and health at Otterbein University and then returned in 2010 to complete her Masters of Administration at Ashland University, a school she loved. Her hobbies include walking Lucy the dog at the park and playing volleyball. In 6th- and 7th-grade art class, students will learn the principles and elements of art by participating in discussions, productions and readings. Students will be introduced to techniques for using oil, paint, pencil, painting, collaging, and drawing. The primary goal is to build students' confidence in their creativity as they engage in challenging but fun projects. The Art classes for 8th grade students will earn a high school credit. Students will study art production and history. This class will challenge students to demonstrate their understanding of their skills as they prepare for high school.
