In 1997, I graduated from The Ohio State University with a bachelor's degree. Before returning to the U.S. for graduate studies, I lived outside the U.S. for five years. I received my Master's and Ph.D. degrees in 2004. The graduate program was both supportive and clinical and research-focused. The human connection and resilience emphasis on my psychologist's journey significantly impacted my development. In 2003, I commenced my clinical field experiences as I worked in OSU's Counseling and Consultation Service and Department of Veteran's Affairs as a psychologist at the mental health clinic. A rotation was also done in the OSU trauma brain injury unit. During my dissertation, my predoctoral internship started. The Department of Veterans Affairs, Cincinnati, OH. My clinical training, which involved rotations, included individual and group therapy in residential rehab programs, Posttraumatic Stress Disorder and in emergency departments as mental health consultants. These primary clinical rotations were supplemented by clinical experiences in the psychotherapy clinic for long-term clients suffering from anxiety, depression, and relationship issues. After finishing my Ph.D. and internship, I went back to Columbus and worked as a psychologist and staff psychologist at the Department of Veteran's Affairs. My VA tenure gave me strong, research-based training to treat PTSD, anxiety disorders, and depression. I continue to use evidence-based treatments in my clinic practice. My clinical training included mindfulness therapy. This is still a major focus in my practice with my clients. My clinical training included evidence-based treatment of couples with difficulties in relating. I like working with couples. The establishment of my private practice occurred in 2008. I am passionate about treating anxiety and depression. Every day, I am inspired by the strength and resilience of those I work with. It is a blessing to love what I do. Everyday life is full of activities and responsibilities. However, therapy has taught me that focusing on inner experiences, emotions, feelings, and thoughts, is usually the best path to healing and fulfillment. I provide a safe environment for clients to explore these experiences in therapy. I believe that therapy is a healing process, and I believe that my clients can heal their inner wounds. I am grateful to be there to help them and offer my compassion.
