Kelsey Renee Faulk Perez, Everything Goes Dance Studio's Director and owner, has been part of "EGD Familia" since she was just 7 years old. In 1998, she began taking tap lessons with late Shannon Calderon Primeau. Kelsey quickly developed a deep love for dance and performance and added jazz, ballet, modern, musical theatre, and pointe to her repertoire. As she grew as a dancer, she also grew up performing onstage. She has starred in numerous plays and musicals, singing, and acting. Some of her favorite roles include Barbara Allen in Dark of the Moon at Jewel Box Theatre, Sandy in Grease at NWO PAC, Chrissy in Hair at UCO, and Chava in Fiddler on the Roof at PCN. She has won several awards for her work in dance and theatre, such as the Best Female Newcomer Performer from Jewel Box Theatre. She has also received awards for Excellence in Tap Dance, Excellence In Ballet, Excellence In Modern Dance, and Junior & Senior Ms. Elegance at Everything Goes Dance Studio. Her high school, Putnam City North High School, awarded her the senior superlative "Most likely to be on Broadway". Kelsey first experienced choreography and teaching in 2008 when her high school teacher offered to teach a new dance class beyond her comfort zone. Kelsey quickly developed a passion for teaching and choreography. She instructed her dance class, leading 15 peers from beginner to advanced through a fun semester, learning tap, ballet, jazz, and modern. Kelsey has taught dance and choreography as a dance teacher for Creative Movements, Tap, Ballet Jazz Musical Theatre, and Modern Dance. At NW Optimist Performing Arts Center, she was a stage manager and head choreographer. She choreographed and performed dozens of musicals, including Oklahoma! Fame Jr. Anything Goes The Apple Tree Grease Aladdin and Cinderella. She choreographed and produced Project: Choreograph it, a dance show to raise awareness for mental health, which raised thousands for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. Kelsey worked towards becoming a certified dance teacher at Dance Teacher University in August 2018. Kelsey received her Acrobatics(c) certification in 2021. She was trained in safety, spotting, and techniques to teach Acro. She continued her training in 2022 with Lynna Tallchief as a semi-professional company member of Prairie Dance Theatre. Kelsey was a proud member of the Programming Committee at the Calderon Dance Festival. Her duties include ensuring the festival is appropriate to Miss Shannon Calderon's wishes. Kelsey intends to hold onto this role for many more years. Kelsey is a choreographer and dancer who has learned from and worked with many mentors and directors, including Gail Vines and Jennifer Connaughty. She was also influenced by Louis Kavouras and Angela D'Valda Sirico. Kelsey constantly experiments with new ideas. She views teaching and dancing as an ever-changing art and is always eager to learn something new. Kelsey is passionate about her work and loves sharing this art. It is a privilege to have this studio's owner/director for four years.
