In 1991, the Philadelphia Animal Hospital opened its doors to the community. Dr. Lawrence Rebbecchi Jr., a local veterinarian with a vision for a clinic that was part of the city of Brotherly Love, dreamed of the new opportunities he could create for animal care. This clinic would be the best, with forward-thinking solutions and comprehensive care. Friends, family, and referrals bemoaned the lack of comprehensive care available. There was a need that needed to be met. Dr. Rebbecchi started his office on Grays Avenue and was part of its growth. And after a time, animals and clients, whom he knew as family, needed a place that was more spacious, inviting, and professional in treatment. In 2015, Dr. Rebbecchi moved his office to where it is now, 7401 Holstein Ave. The Philadelphia Animal Hospital has grown over time and will continue to do so every year. With 4 exam rooms, a therapeutic pool, and the Pet Hotel and Villas kennel, which includes daycare and long-term boarding, Dr. Rebbecchi began his practice from a single office, and now he is running a major center. Dr. Rebbecchi's love for animals started in his youth and was later passed on to his family. His daughter, Dr. Daria Rebbecchi, a graduate of the Veterinary School of the University of Pennsylvania, followed in his footsteps. Dr. Larry Rebbecchi was also a graduate of this university. The passion for this institution and the love for animals do not give up easily. Dr. Rebbecchi and the entire staff at Philadelphia Animal Hospital continue to grow and will do so every year.
