Woods-Gerry Gallery - RISD

In 1877, Woods-Gerry Gallery - RISD was established in Providence, RI as a college and museum. RISD, now a leading art and design institution, provides 2,620 students with full-time master's or bachelor's degree programs in 44 majors. Our school-based faculty and global network of more than 31,000 alumni are devoted to fostering transformative artists, scholars, and designers. Our goal at RISD is to create conditions that promote expansive, flexible thinking and to equip our scholar-artists with the capacity to question, articulate and defend their ideas, making them the generation that reconstructs our world. Our Charge Racism is a systemic issue in our collective history. It contradicts RISD's fundamental values. Therefore, RISD Museum and college are now taking essential steps to address the problem. These new initiatives are driven by the RISDAnti-Racism coalition (risdARC) student and a group of BIPOC faculty members who raised these issues. The university's Social Equity and Inclusion Action Plan (SEIAP), including the following actions taken by different community members, ensures equity, inclusion, and agency uphold RISD's mission, vision, and values.

The Woods-Gerry Gallery is a vibrant spot, with a mix of creators and work. It is a compact place for great light and learning this is a blend of the past and the new. Visitors can anticipate that the displays will change frequently with new and intriguing pieces to see. The interiors of the building are beautifully made, with immense windows. The models and concepts are diverse with sleek and consistent placement. This is a museum that is different, in that, visitors will take a tour that is natural with the students' talent very outstanding. The visitors who are many will appreciate the visits to the gallery and are students and guests. Visitors to the Rhode Island campus and Brown will find that visiting this gallery is a wonderful use of their time. The gallery is a wonderful, magical place.
