ABOUT   Services Excellence Summary

Becker helped my wife and me by providing legal counsel on a non-compete clause. The company's earlier settlements restricted my wife's employment possibilities, and we wanted to know our options. The advice we received was fantastic, and we felt the attorney was genuinely interested in our case. Mr. Becker read our contract, answered our inquiries, and sought my wife's account. The consultation fee was lower in Memphis than in most other places, and it went past the required hour. We have not so far filed the lawsuit, although after reviewing the advice given to us, I would have no problem choosing the attorney. Becker Law Firm is the go-to place if you need a great and caring employment lawyer. Another area that smaller employers might need help with is creating sound human resources policies and procedures. This can be as simple as developing an employee handbook or as complex as overhauling specific company guidelines to comply with state and federal laws. Furthermore, employers may also need their employees to have specific training programs for educational reasons. Some of the suggestions my practice can provide to employers is to help them train their employees on how to apply Family and Medical Leave Act or establish a mechanism for addressing and responding to employee complaints about the workplace. The firm can also help them come up with a way of disciplining employees when the situation is down the road. With over 20 years of experience in workplace disputes, my practice can help these business owners think and see the various personnel problems in their companies from a legal perspective.

SUMMARY   Reviews Summary

Becker Law Firm, has a substantial number of clients who trusted their legal matters to the firm, It is heartwarming to see a lawyer whose counselor is spoken of. Attorney Becker care about each of his client and want what is best for them, "he was able to explained and break down the process so effortlessly...helped me understand the process I was going through". Many clients had the same information, any dealings with his firm have nothing but positive to say about the lawyer and the process. All are sincerely thankful for the hard work by attorney Becker, Misty, and the law firm as a whole. I am always happy when I see a law firm stand up for its clients, advocate for them, and ask for the best outcome possible. I am very satisfied and appreciate the turnaround time for my case.

If I could leave a worse review, I would! I reached out to the Becker Law firm back in June and, as per the email response, paid a $100 consultation fee and scheduled a meeting in July. After the meeting, I agreed to hire them for a simple family mediation case for $1200. I told Misty Becker that I would have to pay in installments, as I school was starting back up and I'd need to be able to take care of my middle schooler's supplies and clothes. She informed me that as long as the payments were made within 30 days, I'd be fine and she would begin the case as soon as the last payment hit. I made sure that I made the deadline and waited for a response. When August rolled around, I was concerned because I hadn't heard an update but understood, so I reached out to see what progress was made. At first, Misty claimed that she had COVID, which was understandable. But then the next month (September), after it being 2 months, when I FINALLY heard back from Misty, she claimed that she'd never received my last $200 payment. I sent her a screenshot of, not only the receipt that HER OFFICE sent me right after I made the payment, but also a screenshot of my bank account showing every single transaction that I made with them. I didn't hear back from Misty for WEEKS. In fact, I hadn't heard back from her email EXCEPT to send me invoices showing that I wasn't paid up. After a while, I reached out and suggested that maybe I should get another lawyer, as she was not fulfilling the agreement that we had and, as I wanted this matter to be done with before the end of the year to avoid holidays, we were pushing deadlines. Rather than email me back, Misty had someone in her office (Monica) reach out to me to inform me that, somehow, this illustrious 20+ year law firm was having email trouble. This wouldn't have been a problem, if I hadn't been calling at least once a week to try to get someone on the phone. Of course, no one ever called back. Monica requested the same information regarding the $200 be sent to her, as Misty claims she never received it. I sent the exact same information to Monica and then never heard from her for a week. Come October, I received an invoice stating that I STILL had not paid and, after that, decided that I was done dealing with them. I demanded my refund and told them that I would be taking my own separate legal actions if I did not get my money back. Miraculously...Misty's email managed to work. I was billed for the time I spent emailing Monica and was not issued a full refund. At this point I really don't care. My only concern is making sure that EVERYONE knows what a terrible law firm Becker Law Firm is. I'll be reporting them to the Tennessee Bar Association as well as the Better Business Bureau. It may not do much, and honestly I'm not expecting them to protect one of their own. But I DO know that others need to know that they need to stay away from this office. I wish I'd have done my homework thoroughly on them before because this whole stealing people's money and missing deadlines is apparently their MO. They're TRASH!
