Bowie Reading & Learning Center

The Bowie Center was founded in Nashville in 1998. Bowie was founded by Bobby Bowie. Bobby Bowie founded the Bowie Reading and Learning Center in 1998. He wanted a place to address the critical reading issues that many students struggle with. The Bowie Center was extremely popular and well-respected in Nashville. The Bowie Family promised Bobby they would honor his legacy and vision after he died tragically. They moved The Bowie Center from their hometown to Memphis in the spring of 2006. Bobby's dreams will come true if every child attending The Bowie Center succeeds. The Bowie Center offers more services than Bobby's original reading support. A full-day school and tutorial program are available to help students in all educational aspects. We provide individualized attention to each student throughout our day school. All core subjects are covered, as well as electives. Our students follow a comprehensive academic curriculum. Depending on student needs, some classes might be one-on-one or in small groups of 3-4 students. Our staff is excellent because they believe each student is an individual with unlimited potential. The Bowie Center focuses on the whole child. Students help foster confidence and academic skills.

Bowie's staff is warm and professional, and both the children and their parents are well-taking care of. The academies include small and mandatory breaks to help the overworked students grow. Every student is treated with love and respect, and the academy uses explicit, multi-sensory language to help students who don't perform well due to learning barriers. They also offer homework class to help with their work load.
