In 1928, the CGHS was founded as its own institution and in 1963, merged with the University of Tennessee to become its Health Science Center. The CGHS offers instruction of a graduate level that leads to the Doctor of Philosophy and Master of Science degrees. The programs include Biomedical Engineering and Biomedical Sciences and Dental Sciences. Our students need specialized graduate schooling that goes beyond the conventional baccalaureate to succeed in industry, academia, and government. This is accomplished through state-of-the-art research and study. Advanced students with exceptional qualifications have the opportunity to engage in a dual AuD/PhD, DDS/PhD, DNP/PhD, DNP/PhD, MDP/PhD, or PharmD/PhD program in the Colleges of Health Professions, Dentistry, Medicine, Nursing, Medicine, Pharmacy.
