Dan West was a 1952 resident of 4763 Poplar and opened a small Feed & Seed Store. His primary customer was the East Memphis farm community. Mr. West started selling more equipment for home gardens after the city expanded eastward. In 1968, when the lease for the next-door service station was expiring, he expanded the Dan West Garden Center to its present size by purchasing the property. Dan West offers custom ribbons or hand-tied bows as well as an extensive selection of Merck Family Old World ornaments. Ferd and his crew have more than 150 years of combined experience in gardening. Dan West leads the industry for his customer service, problem diagnosis, and quality plants.
