Shelby Electric Company, Inc. was established in 1919 in Memphis by E.C. Shelby, Sr., the original founder, as a small business repairing motor vehicles. The firm soon outgrew the original repair shop at 676 Union Avenue. After growing, Shelby Electric relocated its operations to a prominent downtown Memphis location at 390 South Main Street. A Wiring Department was added, diversifying the company to provide better services to the increasing customer base. We moved to its present location at 112 East E.H. Crump Boulevard in 1930. Shelby Electric has steadily grown over the years and has the luxury of many key employees. These employees have worked their entire careers as electrical contractors for Shelby Electric Company. The owners have more than 100 years of combined experience. This has been the key to our stability in the market.
