Apprenticeship Program The student will study theory and practice in the first 50 percent. During the remaining fifty percent, students will practice at a salon, barbershop, or spa. The student will train under an apprenticeship, overseen by a licensed instructor. The licensed instructor is required to have between 5 to 10 years of experience. As an apprentice, the student will be learning from a certified Cosmetologist or Esthetician. Categories can include Nail Tech, Master Barber, and a Nail Tech, Master Barber, with a minimum experience of ten years. Note that an apprenticeship is an excellent substitute for standard cosmetology schools. After fifty percent, the student can sit for Tennessee Theory.
