My name is Joseph Bordelon, and I have a passion for helping Christians in Austin to overcome their daily struggles, which may include marital or relationship problems and other challenges. I hold a Master of Arts in counseling and a Master of Divinity degree and utilize my Christian perspective to address the daily challenges we face. The Texas State Board of Examiners of Professional Counselors must license me to offer therapeutic services.  My practice at Christian Counseling Austin integrates many of my past experiences. My background is in pastoral and ministerial counseling. Throughout the years from 1998 to 2008, I had the privilege of serving in churches in various ways. I pursued my Master of Divinity, and at the end, I had responsibility as a pastor. Also, I frequently provided pastoral counseling to people. As such, I interacted with hundreds if not thousands of families, teenagers, and individuals who needed help in their spiritual lives. It was during this time that I noticed that most people in need here are struggling with their mental health. It was not just the young but also the old. And it was not just the poor but also the rich. It gradually developed in me a passion to pursue mental health therapy in the long term. Christian Counseling Austin came to fruition, and I've had a successful practice in the last six years. Before starting my practice in full-time ministry, I earned my Masters in Counseling. Ever since, I have majored in family and marriage counseling.
