At Second Chances Recovery Homes, we put the individual in recovery. The abundant professional treatment landscape is an infinite array of programs and procedures that can appear impersonal at times. These solutions use 12Step programs, medication, and therapy but lack humanity. Second Chances emphasizes the person, their life and habits, and their relationships with others as the path to healing. The individual remains at the core of recovery, not one element of it, and is a vital part of their own healing journey. Recovery is the French root word for recover, which means to return or come back to one's original self. Most people who "recover" from an addiction figure out that being a more significant part of society is more vital than chasing selfish goals. Many find their purpose in life in helping others stay sober and return home. These are the purposes we aim to reach, and they are far greater than any program or person that dreamed them up. This is why Second Chances is looking for a few army of former residents and supporters in our strategic plan to pay it forward. Our goal is to touch 10,000 lives and rescue people from addiction and restore the neglected, hungry, confused person within all of us. This is our passion. This is not a herculean task that we can do alone because we don't believe we have to. All we can do is invest in today, in ourselves and in this most virtuous goal to help fellow addicts later to accomplish their dream just as we are doing today.
