Waterloo Swimming

The Group Swim Lesson classes have a maximum of four children in the group. The low ratio of swimmer to teacher helps give the swimmer more opportunities for repetitions. The Teaching Pool is currently set up in sections of 10'x20' to help space out the children. In the training pool, a long and thin 25-yard lane, the swimmers can be instructed at a one-to-one level to improve their swimming technique. Having an indoor pool with teaching pools for the Learn to Swim program and then moving them into the training pool (stroke school) commends its program. The temperature in the teaching pool and training pool is kept at approximately 88 degrees F. Years ago, this Program started with the aim of teaching children how to swim. We have refined our lessons over the years and become even better at teaching swimming. Every Learn to Swim and stroke School class has four components: Warm-Up and Skill-Work. Each student feels welcome and ready to learn and/or improve. Each level of class requires many skills to graduate to the next one. Each student can be taught by our instructors individually. You might observe them working together on different skills. Students who work hard or try to learn new skills will be awarded a reward at the end. This program-focused class, which is reward-based, has provided faster results than learning just a skill.
