William 'Bill' Dozier started the Security Center in 1963. At the time, the company, under the name Dozier Bank Vault Business, was repairing and servicing safes and vaults for banks and financial institutions in North Texas. However, in 1968, the emerging technology prompted the company to shift its focus on installing alarms and monitoring systems. In 1970, the organization was rebranded as The Security Center to reflect this shift in business operations. The firm mitigated bank robberies by becoming the leading provider of security systems for banks and credit unions in New Mexico and Texas during this time.
