How do I hold onto the light in my binational bicultural region during this dark period? For twenty years, I've been taking snaps of light in my cherished frontera -as a pastime. These instances were gradually vanishing. This piece is not about politics, but about a powerful female symbol. I make no effort to engage in these rituals or be an advocate. I couldn't make an image of the gentlest light in the frame. Upon reviewing my snaps, I've learned that. Residing in the moment and keeping the environment at arm's length is critical. We must keep searching for light even when everything is dark.
