I am a bilingual immigration lawyer and am licensed to practice in Texas and New Mexico. Living among different cultures has taught me much about the world. When I was a child, we moved to Germany. This gave me the opportunity to speak German and English fluently. My childhood also involved several European travels, and I learned to appreciate cultural diversity. Having a rich cultural experience such as mine has allowed me to see the beauty and passion in the process of bringing people together. This is why I love immigration law. In 2005, I studied at the University of Texas at El Paso. At my first year of junior high school, I was enrolled in the Law School Preparation Institute. I graduated with distinction and received an award. In the fall of 2008, I attended Washburn University School of Law. I participated in pro bono work at the Washburn Law Clinic in Topeka, Kansas in the fall of 2008. I began my practice of immigration law at my first job, Diocese Migrant and Refugee Services, where I worked with the Unaccompanied Minors and Removal Unit. My background in non-profit has greatly impacted and informed my framework and approach to immigration law. There is more to immigration defense than just the profession you choose. In conclusion, I believe that immigration defense, as an immigration lawyer, is something we offer to the most at-risk members of our community.
