First Love: Archery! My mom was in love with archery. It didn’t take long for her to fall in love with me either. As a kid, we spent every weekend out of town as we went on a trip to hit a competition. Archery was our lives, and we embraced that fact as a family. Friday afternoons, we would pack up, hit the competition venue, and camp until Sunday evening. Kids with a stay-at-home dad and a mom into a sport so oddly amazing, we created a unique and an exciting spectacle. I first shot my first archery deer when I was 8. I had a PSE Bandit acquired from Smithfield archery. I had to pull 35 lbs of draw that was mandatory for archery hunting in Texas. I spent my summer working on my arms for the deer season. Mom had left me alone at the tripod stand, leaving for the tent some distance away. Though she thought I was too young to sit still for long enough to see a deer or even harvest one at 8 yards, my zeal never died. My passion got lit on my first hunt, and I have never ceased to hunt ever since. Legacy Archery is not just a family hunting business to me. This is a business that I started with my kids in mind. The 3 arrows on the logo are for my three babies. Every day, when I see the logo, I am reminded of the legacy ahead, and I purposely wake up to leave it every day. I am a father, and my desire is to leave my children more than the business of Legacy Archery. My desire is to give them a company that radiates the values of a man of Jesus, passion, and helping others. As a customer of Legacy Archery, my goal is to model these values for my family. No matter the experience, age, or type of archer you are, Legacy Archery wants you. We shall help you grow in archery, and our team will start you or help you continue your journey of leaving a legacy. The misconceptions and hype we may hear around archery don’t have to hold. We have people waiting for you to show the truth. Legacy Archery made me live my dream.
