In 1965, Lemuel Johnson started Johnson Plumbing in DeSoto. The business was the city's first plumbing company. Dial One Johnson Plumbing, Cooling, and Heating is a new name for the company. The business is still run by Lemuel's daughter-in-law Sherrie Johnson Hartsock and Lemuel's grandson Daniel Johnson. Daniel Johnson is a third-generation plumber. Lemuel created his business to build community and offer outstanding customer service. In addition to implementing these principles, we have done everything we can to maintain them. The original Mr. Johnson knew that excellent customer service needed to be maintained for a company employing skilled tradespeople. Customers don't want to hear that the plumber is out of town when their basement is flooded or their air conditioner is broken in the middle of summer. The company has managed to integrate technology with the service delivery by using the hand-held scanner and email invoices. Clients also greatly appreciate the professionalism shown by the staff from the office, who communicate with the customer when dispatched and the waiting period expected. Although some customers did not like the method of calculating the cost of services at the end of the transaction and did not find this pleasant, this did not take away any of the clients' depth of satisfaction.
