They did not do a State Inspection before the sale. Turns out the car had SERIOUS engine damage. I requested a refund several times and it was not honored. They had the vehicle 9 weeks after I bought it (paid cash for it) and when I picked it up it had even more damage! — Passengers Side Mirror broken — Low air in all 4 tires — No gas — Key FOB did not work — Warning Lights on — Last oil change was over 1 year ago — The GM has still not returned any of my 16 messages left for him. (The Sales Manager keeps telling me he is “in a meeting”) (And that’s just to name a few) My advice: DO NOT buy from this establishment. I certainly would not have had I known this is how they do business.
My experience with AutoNation USA Houston started 11/14/22. It was a good start on the phone, but took a bad turn real fast. I notified the salesperson that I would be arriving around noon to sign the paperwork and pickup my vehicle. When I arrived, the signing took every bit of 5 mins but the vehicle prep took 5 hours!! My excitement was quickly deflated. Then it turned out that the vehicle that I just purchased had a nail in the tire that was clearly marked but by me being hungry, frustrated, tired and dreading the drive back home by myself, 300+ miles to Dallas, in a rain storm, at night, in Houston’s notorious traffic, I didn’t noticed it until the next day. It was only by the Grace of God I made it home safely. After notifying them of the situation with the tire, the sales manager, Carlos adamantly said, “we’re only replacing the tire with the nail”, even after I explained that the two front tire brands didn’t match the back tires and if they were replacing the one they should replace both so, they would not only have the same thread life but all four tires would match, but Carlos only paid for one instead of being apologetic about their negligence and willing to go above and beyond to make things right. So I ended up paying $328 for the other tire. I feel AutoNation USA Houston was more concerned about the sell of the vehicle and making money rather than my safety and satisfaction. Then I had another issue. The battery was bad due to the water pump pulling from it even when the engine was off and it died THREE times within the first week of ownership. I had no booster cables and was left stranded on the side of the road. After the first boost from a stranger I went directly to an auto parts store and purchased some cables and had to use them to leave. I was livid with the fact of trading in my 2018 Mustang that had new tires, new battery and up to date on the maintenance for what was starting to look like a 2015 BMW X6 “lemon”. I would suggest that AutoNation USA Houston start by standing firmly behind their “Brand” with every vehicle they proudly sell to customers and instead of taking advantage of female customers they should embrace us as if we’re their sisters, daughters and nieces.
