Never showed up to appointment.
I reached out to Mission Air Conditioning when my air conditioning unit started malfunctioning due to the excellent reviews they had received, and also because of their proximity to the heights. Upon their visit, which lasted around an hour, they effectively repaired my unit. The technician, Ricky Gonzalez, was incredibly friendly throughout the process. However, he informed me that the capacitor needed replacement and that the cost would be $500, citing the absence of warranty coverage. My knowledge about capacitors is limited, but upon settling the payment and discussing it with a few friends, I came to realize that I might have been overcharged, given that capacitors generally cost around $50 at most. In response to this concern, I decided to contact the manager of Mission Air Conditioning, named Henry. He explained that their price point of $500 is due to the company's substantial size, which incurs significant overhead costs. He elaborated that factors such as training expenses and ongoing education for technicians like Ricky Gonzalez, as well as insurance obligations, contribute to the higher pricing. Hearing this rationale left me puzzled. While I am willing to pay a fair amount for proficient A/C repair services, the explanation that a substantial company overhead is the primary reason for the elevated charges seems unreasonable to me. I would strongly avoid using Mission Air Conditioning and Plumbing unless you are happy to be overcharged. One last thing Henry the manager said no one else in Houston would charge less than 500 for a capacitor. I just got quoted 230 to have my capacitor changed they were from Rock Air Conditioning
