About this business

In 1971, the 62nd Texas Legislature established the University of Houston's second campus. This decision was based on a Coordinating Board of Texas College and University System (now Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board) report from 1968, in which the board suggested opening a second campus. In 1973, Clear Lake was created by the Texas Senate. In 1974, the University of Houston-Clear Lake Bayou Building began construction. Alfred R. Neumann served as the inaugural chancellor. An off-campus site was selected for the 1,069 students and 60 professors to begin in 1974 as construction progressed.

Reviews Summary

University of Houston reviews give stunning account of the breadth of offerings, from the modern campus to the excellent level of professors and the fitness center's facilities. Most reviewers praise the beauty of the University, and even the unofficial tour to their son is exciting. One even mentions the weather, which emphasizes the natural attraction of the bridge over Bayou and the clear lake and the stark contrast in temperatures. The beautiful university campus is both clean and modern, with large and parking facilities. The sense of community is strong, as shown by the diverse student body engaging with test prep as an extracurricular. There is an element of pride, with several past and current students praising UH, as that may indicate a positive reputation among the broader community. The institution is different, with specific references to schools of arts and performance, reflecting a university that caters to different students and invests in creating unique experiences. This is further enriched by the presence of family generations attending the university, as reflected in the student that is attending the University with a daughter now and a grandson. Universities like UH play a critical role in society, giving young generations the opportunities to get a quality education and contribute to the development of their communities. The level of satisfaction and the positive image that UH students have after their association with the institution is a testament to the college's commitment to making a difference.
