Sintia Solis was born in Veracruz, Mexico. After her birth, her family moved to Tamaulipas, Mexico, where they stayed. When Sintia was a child, her father decided to move to the United States to work and make money that could support them. Her father struggled to get a job as a farm laborer and would come back home every after some months or years. They visited their father while in Mexico, but they always knew that America was a better place to stay. Sintia and her parents took advantage of the Immigration Act of 90 to immigrate permanently to the United States. Problems and fears filled their hearts because they did not know what they can do in a place that is not familiar to them. They were full of fear and confusion because they did not know the culture and the language of the people. Nevertheless, they were hopeful about the American dream for themselves and their kids. The family moved to the United States, and they were given a one-roomed apartment in a low-income part of Pasadena. Sintia began kindergarten, and she did not know anything in English. So, she was enrolled in the English as a Second Language (ESL) classrooms for some few years because she did not know how to speak, write, and read English. Sintia became a mother 13 years after graduating from high school. She was in love with a person who managed to make her get pregnant. This made her look for a local community college where she would study and work at the same time. Sintia worked for a full-time job, which was difficult, but she was determined to study and complete her college education. She was determined to show her parents that she could do it after they had problems to get to the United States. Her parents left their country and went to the United States to get a better life for her and they did not want her to let them down. The journey for Sintia was not easy in many aspects as she had to work hard, dedicate herself and work hard to achieve her dreams. The University of Houston Clear Lake is from where Sintia managed to graduate with a B.A in Behavior and Social Science. She worked with a real estate company for several years; however, her passion was on law. Sintia knew that her heart and passion were in law. When she was notified that her three sons had grown and could be taken to school, she decided to apply to law school. Sintia was accepted at law school, despite being a single mother. She worked hard and by God’s grace, she managed to be the best ten students in all her three years of college. Sintia was able to manage her law school while taking care of her kids and taking them to school. She used to take criminal law clinic and immigration law clinics in her final year of college. Sintia managed to get some of her clients released before she was carried by the police on her final day of law school.
