They are evil, they will charge you five times be charged for the same services in human. For example I recently had an MRI myself, and it was $650. Blue pearl refuse to tell me anything about the health of my dog unless I paid them $5,000 for an mri, and then had to wait a week and a half for results. And even then we had to drag it out of them. I went 20 miles outside of Atlanta and went into a tractor supply store looking for veterinarian recommendations, and they gave me wonderful ones. The country vet's where a third of the price, they do all the things that don't cost anything, or cost very little to check the health of your animal. They laughed at Blue pearl, and our now former veterinarian Peachtree Hills in buckhead. They laughed at the Buckhead and Blue Pearl for their incompetence, and the obvious nature of their scam; which is taking advantage of emotional pet owners to charge them excessively for their services We ended up going to the ETA vet school, got a correct diagnosis which ended up being radiation treatment for bone cancer in our Ridgeback skull, that I was asking Blue Pearl and Peachtree Hills about for a year. If we listen to the idiot vets in Blue Pearl and Peachtree hills, we would put our dog down. But thanks to actual good vets in the UGA vet school he will live out his remaining life. Do not go to Blue pearl, they will treat you like garbage. They will mock you whenever you show concern that they are pricing their services excessively high. You will get terrible service levels if you get service at all. Blue pearl and veterinary hospitals like them are run by investment firms. They are the new payday loan scammers of this generation. The people that run places like blue pearl need to be put in prison just like the predatory payday lenders were. There's no difference, except I'd wager that these vile people running these scams to take pet owners and their hard earned money the troubles of a pet to rip people off.
I’m very disgusted with the incompetence and rudeness I experienced at Blue Pearl recently. My dog has been going to Blue Pearl since 2011 for epilepsy. His neurologist was Dr. Wolfe at Blue Pearl. His seizures have been managed mainly with his daily medication for years—since 2011. He also has emergency medication, midazolam and diazepam, that we keep on hand in case he has seizures so we can give it to him during active seizures. Last year, he got really sick and started having cluster seizure episodes about every 2 months. So we’ve had to replace his emergency medications more often. This week, I called Blue Pearl several times over a 3 day timeframe to get the replacement emergency medications because he was almost out after he had a bout of cluster seizures again. I was told that they need 48 hours to fill it. I explained that it was important that I got it filled by Thursday, yesterday, because we were going out of town on vacation and needed the emergency medication on hand. On Wednesday, I was told it would be filled by Thursday morning. On Thursday when I called I was told that they were trying to get to my refill but they would have it by the end of the day. I explained to the lady that I was calling for the past three days and told them before that I was going out of town at 3:30 pm on Thursday—that day. She said “unfortunately there are many people in the same situation and we will get to yours as soon as possible.” I responded “there are many people that are going on vacation in an hour and need their dog’s emergency medication?” She then replied “we will get to it as soon as we can.” I asked to speak with the manager, but the lady said she was the manager. I then asked her to call me as soon as they got the medication filled. She called me later in the afternoon around 4 pm and said they weren’t able to get the medication filled at Sam’s Club pharmacy but that they filled it at Blue Pearl and I could come pick it up right now. I went to pick up the medication. They placed me in a room and the manager and a different doctor, not Dr. Wolfe, came in to tell me they were not going to fill the medication and that Dr. Wolfe said that she would no longer fill the medication in the future. I asked why they called me to tell me the medication was filled and had me drive over there just to tell me they weren’t going to fill it. Her response was “sorry.” This is unacceptable. They called me telling me the medication was filled, had me drive from the other side of town when I should’ve been driving out of town for my vacation, and then told me they weren’t going to fill his emergency medication knowing they waited until the last minute when they had 3 days to tell me this so I could locate a different veterinarian before I went on vacation. Not only that, but his doctor—Dr. Wolfe—didn’t have the courtesy to explain to me what was going on. Instead, she had the manager and a doctor that never saw my dog before tell me this.
