MeadowLawn
My Beloved Parents passed away within 6 months of each other this year (2022.) My Dad passed away in April and my Mom passed in October. We chose MeadowLawn as my parents’ final resting place because we lost my baby brother and my Dad chose MeadowLawn for him back in 1969. My Grandmother is also buried there. We are sincerely thankful that our loved ones are in the care of such a lovely and peaceful resting place.
When my Dad passed away in April and my Mom in October our whole family was devastated. We had not experienced such tremendous losses until those points and we were completely taken aback.
We had an amazing Funeral Director named Ms. Whitney Watson who met with us the day after my Daddy passed. And thankfully Ms. Whitney was also our Director when my Mother passed. Both times we met, Ms. Whitney explained everything to us in great detail, and was so kind and patient. I believe we sat with her for over 4 hours as she went through all aspects of my Father’s arrangements. We had very specific ideas of what my Dad’s final wishes entailed and Ms. Whitney tirelessly sought to help us bring those special requests to fruition. We had a week to prepare for his services and we ran into a snag, but by the Grace of God and determination of Ms. Whitney, we were able to have my Father receive his well deserved Military Honor. And for that we are truly blessed and grateful. Ms. Whitney also helped us when it was time to make arrangements for my Mother. Although I was grieve stricken, I was relieved to see she would be helping us with my Mother’s wishes as well. Every time I had a question or concern Ms. Whitney was there for me. She has excellent communication skills and if she said she would follow up with something, she meant it. My Mother’s Funeral Mass was the most beautiful service I have ever attended. Ms. Whitney not only coordinated everything, she guided us through what has been the most difficult days of our lives. She did it with such grace and compassion and we developed a beautiful rapport throughout our time with her. She took calls and e-mails and question after question without showing a hint of anything but understanding and willingness to make sure we had peace of mind that everything was handled with the utmost care possible. I truly believe that the role of a Funeral Director is a calling. It takes a very special kind of person to be able to help people when they are suffering and at their worst and help them feel a sense of peace knowing that their loved one is in the care of compassionate, dedicated, and understanding people such as Ms. Whitney and the staff we were fortunate to work with. This level of commitment makes a world of difference especially when that world is falling down around the bereaved.
Today I picked up my Mother’s Certificates of Passing and Whitney had the most beautiful words she shared with me. Losing my Parents has been life changing and I am filled with a deep sense of sorrow. It’s going to take some time to work through and Whitney gave me the gift of very special words to think on and pray on today. I am truly blessed and thankful!
