Teach For America - San Antonio Regional Office

Teach For America - San Antonio Regional Office Wendy Kopp is an education leader. She understood that national teacher shortages needed to be addressed as a priority and that educational issues for low-income children must be resolved. She had a creative idea to seek out highly qualified college graduates ready to work in high-need rural and urban schools. At Teach for America, we think that every child has potential and deserves education. We still believe in a bold vision, 25 years later. Our nation's educational problems are long-standing. These issues will require numerous answers from diverse angles for a long time. We find exceptional and varied early-career leaders and ask them to commit to a two-year project, including teaching in public schools and interacting with families and children affected by education inequity in the most profound ways.
