Our firm's passion is to provide the best service possible in this area. We do this with compassion, excellence, and integrity. The personal representative is responsible for preparing and filing an inventory after a court approves them. The inventory lists all claims of the deceased. Statutes establish the timeframe for this crucial task. The inventory includes all the deceased's assets, which are subject to probate. Any assets that did not transfer outside probate by law or another means are included. Property that needs to be appraised and valued is included. Claims are debts owed to and due from the estate. The inventory gives potential will beneficiaries and creditors a better picture of the estate's assets and liabilities. Both of these groups expect to receive what the estate has to offer. The representative can be removed if the inventory is not filed on time. This delays the process (and causes tempers to flare).
