Roots Coffee Utah, Utah's Best Coffee Shop 2021, is a modern coffee shop that offers coffees, teas, and pastries in Salt Lake City's Granary District. While on vacation in Cartagena, Ginalen Soto, and McKenzie Packard came up with the idea of starting their own coffee shop in Salt Lake City. As the company founders, they had visited coffee shops and tasted coffee in over 15 countries and almost every state in America, which helped them develop a passion for coffee and its different tastes. These invaluable experiences inspired them to start a coffee shop where they could create a melting pot of their experiences. In 2020, the duo began planning their business establishment. They searched for suppliers and found an ideal location. Before settling on the Granary District's building, they toured multiple other potential sites in Salt Lake City. The Granary District was chosen because two entrepreneurs wanted to create a warm and inviting space that reflected the charm and history of Salt Lake City. The founders also have a shared mission to travel the world to bring new flavor trends to Roots Coffee Utah, which is why the shop continues to offer a wide range of coffee products.

Roots Cafe garners consistently positive and enthusiastic reviews. Patrons rave about the flavorful beverages, particularly the spicy chai and caramelos. This spot is an especially welcoming place for remote work and gathering with friends and has a commendably cozy ambiance. It also proudly serves up a large variety of freshly baked pastries like bagels. The large outdoor patio area is a big plus. Lorena and Justin are particularly magical, and the baristas were all so knowledgeable about coffee beans, grinding, brewing, and didn't feel like they were talking down to me at all.
