SUSAN N. JARVIS FINE ART Susan N. Jarvis is a gifted contemporary realism painter with special affection for painting everyday objects. These objects attract her interest, and she enjoys painting them, just as she chooses the paintings she attends. Susan pays regard to even the smallest details in these items. Collaboratively with vibrancy, color, and texture, she conveys the beauty of these ordinary objects. Susan works and hosts workshops for adult classes in her Salt Lake City studio. Part of Susan's painting philosophy is to create peaceful and quiet pieces. She has displayed her work in numerous exhibits and museums throughout the Intermountain West. Her oil paintings often show a single vegetable, container, or other mundane item. Her use of color and texture to these breathtaking small scenes is impressive. She was born and raised in Salt Lake City, Utah, where she also currently resides. From a young age, Jarvis displayed her artistic side. When she was two years old, she used her mother's red lipstick to paint on her mother's white chenille bedspread. Although her work did not receive the recognition she had hoped for, Jarvis continued to explore her artistic inclination. Susan's “happy narratives” continue to be her preferred subject. She has also began offering oil painting classes and workshops. Her goal as an artist is to create peaceful and quiet works by combining traditional painting techniques with unconventional views of subject matter.Susan is a current member of several art organizations in America, including Women Artists of the West, Oil Painters of America, and American Women Artists. Her work has been featured in Southwest Art Collector and Western Art Collector.
