The reviews had a overwhelmingly positive picture of Yates Automotive. The team's professionalism, customer focus, and fast service were recurring themes in the comments. Many clients mentioned that they had an exceptional experience with their favorite mechanic, such as Chris, Billy, and Dwayne. They liked the detailed conversation of their vehicle's diagnosis and the easy communication from the staff about its service or inspection. This made them feel safe and confident when they put their vehicle in Yates's hands. Besides, the honesty and lack of stress through the evaluation were another point of reference, mostly in the context of the inspections. For instance, the shop found a rattling relay issue that the client was not aware of during her Virginia state auto inspection. She was called on, and the shop told her the cost would be a few hundred dollars, which meant she would not pass the inspection. While this was unfortunate, the client stated in her review that she was thrilled with how she was treated. She further suggested that the car mechanic clearly knew his job, provided to the client all the necessary and relevant information. But, the shop passed with no issues and advised her that it would take another month or two before repair became necessary. The customers also mentioned that the shop takes the trifle fuck ups out of the car, which means they are worth to have your care serviced with because they have the right diagnostic tools. The diagnostic machine had broken down, and it took an entire month before Yates could get a working machine. But this customer went on to say that, according to Yates's policy, they could not charge the customer the cost of the rental diagnostic machine, or rather they should not pass such a cost on to the customer, their client. Only a handful of clients made subpar reviews. They felt they had to reappear at the shop without a car problem being sorted the first time they were there. But in most of these cases, the first time they were used as the diagnosis time and a quote had to be waited, which usually took some time, usually two days. Therefore, I found the subpar customers' complaints challenging as the issue had originated from them. For more than one trip, this car was in the shop, and this encourages the shop reviews to remain 5-star.
