Hawkins Family Therapy

I earned my Bachelor's in Individual and Family Development from Seattle Pacific University. Years later, I returned to SPU for my Master of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy. My training began as a counselor for a Seattle-based mental health center, working with individuals and couples. This is where I started to develop my counseling career. From there, I have worked with families and individuals, both in a group setting and in my own practice. I am honored to walk alongside my clients through their most challenging and best moments. My calling to counseling is also deeply influenced by my personal life. I am the youngest of four children in my extended family. I have spent my life interfacing with family members and observing family changes due to major life events. Through my formative years, I watched families and individuals struggle with cancer, death, and major life changes. Divorce and mental illness were common in many families I knew. My family also experienced these difficulties. This experience taught me about the importance of obtaining professional support in these difficult times during life transitions. It has inspired me to become a counselor. As a counselor who has worked with parents and children for over a decade, I have discovered my passion. Counseling is the best method to serve families and individuals during their most vulnerable times, at their most critical moments. Through my work, I love what I do, and it has become increasingly passionate regarding my calling as a counselor. I am from Puget Sound, where I grew up. I love everything about the water and boating. My wonderful husband and I have been married for 11 years. We love boating, running, pickleball, and spending quality time with our three daughters and their families. As a hostess with the mostest, I have a heart of a hostess, and I thoroughly enjoy hosting. This passion and my work have shaped my virtual office as a warm, calming, and emotionally supportive space, professionally and personally.
