La Colmenita Bilingual Preschool

La Colmenita Bilingual Preschool is a licensed childcare program that combines a nationally recognized curriculum with language immersion to help children become more knowledgeable. The preschool classroom offers a nurturing and secure environment that values cultural diversity. Our small classroom size, low ratio of teacher to child, and engaging, age-appropriate activities create a world of exploration. We believe children learn best when they are active participants in their learning, so our program emphasizes hands-on exploration and play. We believe children learn best when they are curious and ask questions; language learning can be enhanced when the child's cultural knowledge and experiences are incorporated into the curriculum. At this time, our program operates five days a week, from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM. Children between 2 1/2 and 6 years old attend our play-based, emergent curriculum classroom. Children have the opportunity to learn Spanish for 6 hours a day, five days a week. They engage in hands-on activities and actively learn Math, Science, Social Studies, Art, Music, and Dance. Our program's primary objective is to provide a solid foundation for social, emotional, and academic success at La Colmenita Bilingual Preschool. La Colmenita School follows the idea that children need to acquire a lot of skills to help them be successful in kindergarten, children have the right to enjoy play and learning, and that children have an innate desire to learn.
