Phenomenal veterinarians and staff. They took exceptional care of my cat, which was actually kind of important as it didn't leave me second guessing all of the work South Seattle Vet Hospital performed that night when my cat was recuperating. The cost was also reasonable. I am extremely happy, and will use South Seattle Vet in future again. I would highly recommend them.
My experience with this hospital visit was very bad, if I could rate below a one star and report this business I would. I contacted the hospital prior to arrival and asked how much it would be to see my pet and they informed me it would be $50.00. When I arrived I was asked by one lady "to just sit down" after waiting for 15 minutes I noticed others were getting helped immediately by her, whom I may add were all white. When I walked back up to the desk and explained that I had an emergency and had not been helped the second lady asked me to sign in, whom was not there at the time of my arrival. After taking my pet in the back an hour later and waiting for an additional 2 hours I was told the following, " It is now emergency hours and we would need a $400.00 deposit" after already informing me over the phone it would be $50.00 to see him and their only response to that was, "yeah well it is policy" . 10 minutes after this interaction, the doctor came in and told me my pet was dying with no explanation and no hesitation. After I broke down in tears she informed me that I needed to pay an additional $1100.00 to keep him over night which they said included medication. My boyfriend and I had to ask questions to get any information or explanation but in that moment I was not going to second guess a professional's advise especially under the impression that my pet was going to die. They informed me I can call any time as they are open 24 hours but when I tried calling 5 times no reply. The next day we arrived to pick him up at 2pm after calling to confirm the time at 7am but when we arrived at 1:50pm we had to wait until 4pm until someone came to speak to us. One lady I assume was a nurse came to speak to us about his medication then informed me that my pet was currently severely dehydrated which did not make any sense if they were supposed to keep him over night to help him and place him on fluids, the nurse did not give an explanation but informed me she can bring out a doctor. When my pet came out in his kennel he was weak, filthy, severely dehydrated and was not bandaged up from where he had an IV and was still bleeding, and all she had to say was, " he was not happy". My pet did not calm down until I placed my hand inside to calm him. At that point I did not want to speak to any one and just wanted to take him home but I had to pay an additional almost $200.00 for medication that was supposed to be included and instead of explaining these charges I was shown a form I signed which stated costs will vary $1500 - $2000 . The nurse informed me if my pet does not urinate within 24 hours to bring him back. After an hour later my pet was still weak and just wanted to sleep. I called at least 3 other veterinary placed to find out the symptoms I should look for because this place was not helpful and as I was speaking to someone from the third place I've called because no one else would help the nurse informed me I needed to take my pet back to the hospital immediately because his body was shutting down from the symptoms I stated when then when I turned to my pet to place him in a blanket he went limp in my arms. I was directed to a different hospital and was told to inform them of this hospital " South Seattle Veterinary hospital " she explained the other hospital would understand. When I arrived and they took my pet immediately, to my surprise they new exactly what I was talking about because they've received numerous complaints and are aware of the mistreatment at this hospital, my pet shouldn't have just received fluids they just made his issue worse by making his bladder a ticking time bomb and were not supposed to release him if he hadn't urinated. I would never come back to this hospital, especially reading other reviews that are almost similar to mine is just heartbreaking. I needed some kind of payment plan and I was laughed at, while I was crying, I had to pull out of my savings for nothing.
I took my cat there because he had broke off his canine tooth when the covid-19 restrictions was in effect they said it cost me $520 ended up being $750 I just took my cat back to them for an emergency visit because he wasn't eating and losing weight waiting for the veterinarian to come in before seeing my cat he wrote down a payment of $520 at that point I realized that they take advantage of people's love for their pet they took labs, x-rays said that he had a kidney infection gave me Rx want to help is appetite in the end it cost $800+they were going to give me a senior discount ($10) I called them to get a refill of his pain medication I asked them if they had anything that they could give him to help him use his litter box I think they were so into getting new charges the doctor said there was nothing he could give me because I denied him staying at their clinic for 3 days over for over $2,000 and that didn't have any x-rays or lab work which was paper on the first visit and I have copies of it so they wanted to charge me for another X-ray and lab just to give me something for my cat to be able to use his litter box so instead of going through changes with them I just got the pain meds and called it a day they know how easy it is to to accept to pay whatever to take care of their pet I will say before you go there find a veterinarian that cares about your pet not just money they need to be stopped someone who truly care about pet could take over if you still have your receipts look at them closely they can't keep doing to people what they do
