About this business
Mona Elassiouti is the founder of The Dog Resort, which has an intriguing story of origin. One day, the manager at the old dog boarding facility where she was a tenant called to say that the new owner had arrived and taken all her files and computers. She then announced the closure of her business. At her home, there were many Christmas boarding dogs, and her employees were unpaid. She took her savings and opened the gates to all the boarders for free. It was two months of work without pay, but she never regretted doing it. Mona believes that God gave her the gift of a dog, which she has treasured for many years. With her years of experience in business ownership and management, her ability to maintain successful dog ownership is a testament to her work ethic and dedication to animals. Mona had to drain her account for two months to buy the services of the former owner. The Dog Resort was formed, and a lease was signed with the property's owner.
Reviews Summary
Customer reviews are largely positive, noting the simple reservation and inquiry process and overwhelming a warm, friendly, and responsive community atmosphere. Daycare and boarding experiences are very satisfying: dogs receive encouragement, free roaming, and outdoor space leading to good day's end for everyone. A week-long boarding went excellently, including telephone messages, "to report that your dog has been well," noting health problems encountered. Some negative reviews complained. I am a happy customer.

Normally, I wouldn't leave negative feedback without contacting the ownership to address the issue.
The sad part of you losing a pet is the lack of empathy or care that you have that it happened in the first place.
No posts about changing protocols to make sure it doesn't happen again. Or (the worst part) you didn't even bother to share the post of the dog YOU lost.
That could have gone a long way into helping find the dog.
But, I get it....you don't want to look bad for customers who do entrust you with their pets or scare off potential customers who were considering using your service.
For that, you deserve a bad review.
I really hope you pay for the vet bills that the dog and family incurred.
That is the very least you could do.
CAUTION TO CONTRACTORS. Mona Elassiouti is a scammer and does not pay her contractors or handymen to repair her facility. She scammed my company for over $8k. Disgusting people. Do not do business of any kind with them. Definitely would not trust them with a pet.
CAUTION to dog guardians in the Seattle-area (and please pass this along):
I highly caution you against taking your dog to The Dog Resort, a daycare/boarding facility (they have multiple locations).
They've proven to be negligent and unethical.
Yesterday, a dog got out of their facility when a door was left open by staff and a dog escaped and they didn't even notice. They weren't aware until another client mentioned that they saw a loose dog running around on the street when they were on the way to pick up their own dog. When they were made aware of the situation, they did nothing to help search. The dog (Nori), ended up getting hit and killed on an I-5 on-ramp. They are not taking any responsibility and have ghosted the family whose precious dog was killed.
In addition, the following has been reported at their facilities:
* At least 115 dogs per one staff member (for perspective, ethical daycares generally have no more than 15 dogs per person)
* Yelling and hitting dogs
* Filthy conditions, dogs being returned covered in urine and feces
* Giardia and kennel cough rampantly spread
* Dogs being returned physically injured
* Dogs being returned fearful and shell-shocked
This all came out when there was a fire at their facility a few months back due to not cleaning the lint out of their dryers. You may have seen it on the news as a "feel good" story—it was anything but.
The place is unsafe, and your dog's welfare is not a top priority to them. Please steer clear and pass this along to your friends in different neighborhoods.
Receipts can be found online if you search. Take a look at their 1-star reviews, as well as many posts. They do a good job at covering their tracks.
Lack of safety. They have lost multiple dogs, one resulting recently in death. RIP Nori. Yet refuse to take responsibility for it.
I mean the other location CAUGHT ON FIRE for not cleaning out a dryer vent. (Supposedly)
If they’re neglecting simple routine tasks, what else are they just not doing ?! I don’t recommend this place if you value the life of your pet.
