WHIT is an employee benefits trust that offers diverse and competitive staff benefits solutions to its member hospitals, clinics, and other healthcare providers or organizations. The Washington State Hospital Association members established WHIT (the Western Healthcare Insurance Trust) in 1976. It is a non-profit trust managed by members of the trusts themselves, offering employee benefit coverage to healthcare organisations with at least 10 employees. The Trust’s services are available to hospitals and health-related entities in the Pacific Northwest region of the United States. The rationale for the Trust's inception was to provide unique, low-cost employee benefits plans. This is still the standard we use when considering products or carriers. We want our products to offer a unique benefit that hospitals or healthcare-related groups can't access on their own. The Trust will have at least one products and one new product at any given time available for purchase. Participation in the Trust is available to all public and private hospitals in the Pacific Northwest. The Trust administration is managed by DiMartino Associates, an employee benefits consulting firm. Although most committees are closed to brokers and consultants, we encourage those who wish to become members or understand how things work to contact us.
