My name is Matt, and I am Stef's high school sweetheart, husband, and father of our three children. We enjoy spending time playing sports together, such as figure skating, football, volleyball, basketball, softball, and baseball. We also enjoy engaging together in hiking, fishing, camping, biking, and hunting in the outdoors. I first fell in love with IVs when I was a registered nurse, and I was required to administer the IV solution. I was a new graduate who was hesitant to start an IV and was approached by a coworker who said, "Let's start an IV right now." If I knew that starting IVs was so much fun, I would have done so far more often. It was extraordinary how people would feel better immediately. Observing people who had difficulty breathing and needed IV hydration to obtain iron was alarming when severe COVID-19 symptoms emerged. When I was pregnant, I was shaking and nauseous, but I could not prepare anything. Outside the ER, I would have paid for IV hydration. When my symptoms were a result of dehydration and nausea, I felt awful. I was inspired by the experience with our patients to find a way to make my life meaningful, and Kim and I discussed supporting our community with my hospitality, knowledge, skills, and ideas.
