ABOUT Services Excellence Summary

As a human ecologist, Dean Soyeon Shim has a Ph.D. in Human Ecology from the University of Tennessee - Knoxville and two other graduate degrees in the same field. She is a pioneer in higher education and research, with over 30 years of experience, including APLUS (Asset and Positive Youth Development) research on young adults' finances knowledge and well-being. Since her undertaking as SoHE dean in 2012, she has made a substantial impact on campus and beyond, starting numerous cutting-edge programs and initiatives for UW–Madison and further afield.
