Introduction to Hatch Staffing Services Susan Hatch is the owner and Founder of Hatch Staffing Services. Her staffing career began at Manpower, where she worked as an Area Manager. Her job involved visiting branch offices and auditing for process, procedures, and consistency to brand for the Michigan, Indiana, and Kentucky branches. She adored the staffing industry's mission to help people find employment. However, the service delivery to clients and candidates was not consistent. Often those critical issues were lost in a large organization that couldn’t be nimble to change with each unique situation. In 1983, Susan was having dinner with her family and her husband when they chose to begin Hatch Staffing. Susan was very fortunate having learned from skilled professionals at Manpower how to create strong staffing processes. Leveraging that, she felt she could create a company that retained those strong systems and procedures, but at the same time, lacked corporate levels of oversight. This would allow us to make decisions in unity, a significant drive in our daily focus on deliverability to our customer base. Over the years, we have learned to empower our employees to make decisions so we can ensure customers get immediate solutions to problems are specific to their unique situation (Sykes & Shirilla, 2009).
