Vanya Hampel (Principal Solicitor) – SCT Lawyers has practiced in the criminal law for over 15 years now. She began practicing criminal law at the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) in Parramatta and also in Sydney. Her time at the ODPP gave her a unique perspective as she was able to see the inner workings of the Criminal Justice system from the side of the prosecutor. After over one year in prosecutions, she moved to the other side of the courtroom and now works full time on criminal defence, fighting for the rights and freedoms of those charged with criminal offences in NSW. Vanya appears regularly in all types of criminal matters and routinely represents people in all jurisdictions: Local Court, (including through our Parramatta office), and District Court, and Supreme Court having most recently sought special leave and won a complex appeal in the High Court of Australia; Sio v The Queen [2016] HCA 32 (24 August 2016) – Google search. She has been admitted as a practitioner of the High Court of Australia since August 2004. Her friendly and professional manner in Court, coupled with her strong desire to see justice done enables her to obtain the best possible results for her clients consistently.

Vanya received numerous positive testimonials from customers who praised her talents, empathy, and commitment to their cases. Most reviewers mentioned she helped them prevent the loss of their driving licenses, which would have had a significant impact on their jobs and families. They stressed her supportive interactions with them throughout the process, her impressive results, as well as her capacity to communicate quickly and calmly about these complex legal experiences. Customers also highlighted Vanya's ability to make critical decisions quickly and her dedication to ensuring that her clients received the most favorable outcome possible. Some testimonials mentioned her extensive experience and professionalism, and how it made a positive difference in their cases. Her results in these cases demonstrate her exceptional skills in traffic and criminal law and, thus, all reviewers recommended her to anyone in need of legal advice.
