The whole team was responsive and supportive. I have collaborated with Kimberley Martin and Casey Goodman for many years (professionally and personally). Their expertise, service, and detail are exceptional. I am a lawyer and refer my clients to them. I would be pleased to work with these exceptional lawyers again. After a 42-minute phone conversation where there was a lot of background info about my situation, and it was clear no further directions were given to the firm to act on my behalf. After I sent an email outlining what was advised, which was not very helpful and I was already aware. They basically only confirmed what I already knew. I receive a bill for only under $1200.00. I had no further advice or work done for that price. I complained 3 times once in writing and 2 other times on the phone about my complaint and probably after that, they reduced my bill but only by $400.00. If nothing was done then why should I have to pay anything? This is dumb for the company to behave like this. This is why lawyers are so dislike and hated by the public. They are obsessed with the billable hours they can squeeze in. (Nathan Riley). Competent but charged exorbitantly: They are generally competent and thorough, but they are trying to bill way too much. They bill in minimum 6-minute units (although many tasks are charged at less than one unit), and the charge rate appears to be at least $45 per unit. (Source) I would never dream of using them for anything that could be done by a conveyancer! I have found them to be about the same as other similar quality lawyers, in all other respects, including the errors. The cost was about average, plus quite a few extras that were not billed. They also shared some useful insights for free without charging me for it, which I consider to be part of what I was paying for - knowledge. I would not recommend them for anything less critical or that could be handled by a conveyancer. If I had to go back in time, I wouldn't use them given I now have a good idea of how good their competitors were. But I would use them now if this situation occurred again, except it is possible that I could find a better lawyer that I don't know about yet. They are extremely competent, knowledgeable, and have seemingly unlimited depth of experience and confidence. They were able to provide answers to questions just off the top of their heads that would have required hours of research and analysis by another lawyer. But they were also slow (but taking into account their excessive charging policy, they may have artificially increased the time taken) and prone to minor errors, such as misspelling my name several time and addressed me by the wrong title. Various other minor errors made me question the thoroughness of their advice.
