My wife put down the $5000 CAD retainer for renunciation prior to Trump being elected. After the election we decided to pause since it was unclear if visas would be an issue. We never filled out the questionaire yet Moody´s wanted to bill us for the entire estimated amount of $14,000 CAD. They performed no services, provided no documentation of billable hours, absolutly nothing. After months of trying to cancel the contract they billed my credit card (without permission) for $1000 and said goodby. This is the most unreputable law firm I have ever seen. Avoid!
VERY DISAPPOINTED in the renunciation of US citizenship done by Alex who gives the seminars. He scares people into thinking that he is the only one and best guy who can renounce for you. We had a 25 minute phone call, couple of emails back and forth, he asked me to fill out some forms and that was it. He honestly did next to nothing and it cost me $10,000..... Highway robbery and I fell for it. You can absolutely go through the renounciation process on your own or with another company for a fraction of the price. Would not recommend Moodys.
