Founded in 1992 by Helen Zenith and Tamar Zenith, Newzones was located in a former steel mill in Calgary’s Warehouse District. In 1997, it built a free-standing facility, with architect Peter Lawrence Wood designing. The building is architecturally modern. The first floor is home to three galleries, a viewing room, an outdoor sculpture court, and meeting space. The second floor features a sculpture exhibition and administrative offices overlooking the first-floor galleries. Newzones is located in Calgary's Uptown Design and Gallery District.
