Presenting at the historic deWaal building (b.1901) in Bridgeland, the "elbow" in Blackfoot (aka known as Calgary, where two rivers meet), Sparrow Artspace acknowledges that Treaty 7 land on which we are located is the ancestral home of the Blackfoot Confederacy, including the Siksika and Kainai First Nations. Sparrow Artspace offers monthly residencies for artists to make, show, and collaborate in a supportive community. Why the sparrow? Because it symbolizes this community. Community, creativity, friendship, care, teamwork, joy, inclusion, empowerment, inclusivity, resourcefulness, and happiness are all represented by the sparrow. Come to Sparrow Artspace to meet our artists and find out. Sign up for our mailing list to receive invites to our events.
