First General Edmonton was recommended by my home insurance company when I had a water leak in my finished basement after the huge rains last summer (June 2023). First General did both the water restoration as well as the rebuild. They were AMAZING!!!.
Joel, the project manager was very polite, professional, and kind. He was able to come quickly to my home to assess the water damage and was very prompt about getting the water damage taken care of. Everyone who came to my home showed up when they said they would, were very professional and efficient and did a fantastic job. They had to cut and remove parts of the the drywall in two different places. Once everything was put back together there's no way of telling where the drywall was cut, removed and replaced. When the paint contractor "touched up" one of the non-rebuilt walls and the paint dried, one could tell it was a slightly different color of paint. When I brought this to Joel's attention, the painter came back and painted the whole "touched up" wall at no extra charge to me. Due to my chemical sensitivities I did not want my carpet cleaned with regular carpet cleaning solution. Matt at First General did research around town to find a carpet cleaner that could accommodate my request that the carpet be steam cleaned with a mixture of vinegar and water. When he was unable to find a company who would do this, First General rented a steam cleaner and had their own cleaning crew steam clean my carpet with a mixture of vinegar and water. The gals did a fantastic job! They got my carpet even cleaner than when I originally moved into my home, and were able to remove some rust stain spots that had been in the carpet when I took possession of my home from the original owners.
I'm very grateful for the wonderful job everyone at First General did and I highly recommend First General.
Brutal company who were assigned by TD Insurance. They did a substandard job with a minor basement flood clean up with an incomplete estimate. The 2 project managers I dealt with were abrupt and rude. The project managers then quit responding to all forms of communication to me and the TD adjuster. I even attempted to speak to the Edmonton office manager, to no avail. They essentially took the clean up money and disappeared. I'm now left organizing a different company to do it with a cash payout from TD.
They are clearly too big and too busy AND don't care! DON'T USE THEM!!!
