However, I learned only after committing to the mortgage that I am responsible for a $1,019.85 FNF legal/title transfer fee, which was not explicitly discussed during our talks. Although some of this fee was disclosed somewhere in the documents, I strongly believe that a cost of that size deserves a clearer explanation than is currently provided. My concerns were dismissed, and I was informed that it is a standard third-party fee and that there was nothing that could be done. I was not properly informed of the financial implications before making my decision. When using NextDoor Mortgages, it is recommended to get clear written or verbal verification of each fee that you will be responsible for paying before signing. 5.
