About Me Hello, I'm Dr. Michael Bahan, the owner of South Centre Chiropractic Clinic at the Calgary Farmers Market. I am pleased to call many of my clients friends. At the University of Alberta, I completed my Bachelor of Science in biochemistry. I loved biochemistry so much; I almost made it my career. But after much soul-searching, I realized my passion was working with people, not microscopes. Such a background helps me educate patients about nutrition because the field is fraught with misinformation. Providing nutritional advice requires a solid scientific foundation. I attended chiropractic school in Portland Oregon, where the world's first chiropractor set up practice! The school was fantastic, the weather was great, and I rode my bike everywhere. I enjoyed my time there. I have worked at South Centre Chiropractic Clinic, in South Edmonton, for over thirty years, and I love what it stands for. Our society lacks common sense when it comes to nutrition, exercise, and lifestyle. I enjoy the fact that we can provide information that isn't tainted by drug companies or doesn't sell a product. Though we do stock the occasional supplement, I generally direct people to other doctors or shops that carry the necessary items or offer services. In my free time, I participate in triathlons and run marathons. I've done a few Iron Man events, including my hometown Canmore, and, for the past few years, have focused more on Sarah and our boys, all of whom were competitive swimmers. My long-term wellness patients and my older patients always remind me that kids grow up so fast, so cherish every moment. I am blessed to be surrounded by such wonderful people and receive their invaluable advice.
