Dr. Keeling graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree and an exchange year from the University of New Brunswick. His Masters was obtained while studying in Scotland on a scholarship awarded from UNB. Having spent two years at the University of Connecticut in the US, Dr. Keeling was preparing for a PhD in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. He made the switch to medicine and completed his Doctor of Medicine at Dalhousie University, Halifax, Nova Scotia. Admitted to a Canadian residency program in 2001, Dr. Keeling completed his five-year specialist training at the University of Alberta in Edmonton in 2005. He also has a Fellowship from the Royal College of Physicians & Surgeons of Canada in Dermatology (FRPCPC). Additional formal training in Mohs Micrographic Surgery is the Gold Standard in North America for the surgical management of nonmelanoma skin cancers, and there are less than 30 such specialists in Canada. Dr. Keeling is approved by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta to perform Mohs Micrographic Surgery in his Non-Hospital Surgical Facility; he also has formal accreditation from the College of Alberta.
