Assault – any force not agreed. Often the scenario is a barfight or road rage. Bodily harm – the assault causes bodily injury Assailant with a weapon – a weapon essentially means a higher sentence. When used in an assault, the object used is now an assailant. If it is a gun, specifically, the attack is a "firearms" occurrence. Any object could be considered a weapon. Agravated assault – the attack is especially serious or results in significant injury. Domestic Assault in British Columbia These files: also known as "K", these are filed for domestic violence. They are identified with the Court File. You can charge this type of assault as any other. It may involve assaults between spouses, parents, children, or family members. The K file may have more complicated considerations. Specifically, bail terms are often more stringent. Going back to your family may be allowed but with severe conditions. You might not be able to see or communicate with your children. Their care could be temporarily given to the victim or to a third party. They may also live with you, but you might not be able to parent them. You might not be able to work, parent, teach, or volunteer.
