They sold us a defective vehicle and it is completely different from the claims made before and at the time of sale. Vehicle Details Make: Hyundai Model: Santa FE Sport Limited Edition Colour: Grey Bought From SMS Motors Chilliwack Here are the claims made by Sales Person - The vehicle is 'ready to go' with no issues at all. - Everything is working fine. Here are facts starting the day of Test Ride and within days after the sale - During test ride, it was found that the AC is not working. This was never disclosed by the sales person and only after discovering it, he acknowledged that it is not working. The sales person ensured that there is no gas leakage of any kind and after refill of gas, it will be working fine. - On 26th April, the vehicle started making huge vibrations and a dramatic sound appeared while on Highway 1. Not risking safety of passengers, the car was taken to Mr. Lube in Langley which was the closest repair shop at that time given the huge noise front tires were making and how seemingly dangerous it was to ride in this vehicle. - They tried to inspect the tires and found out that the tire key is missing and they could not open the tires. This key was never provided to us. - I rushed to Hyundai to buy the key but I had to buy a new set of lug nuts because they had to discard the old nuts by breaking them. - I took the vehicle to a repair shop in Abbotsford and found that the issue is with brake pads & rotors which had to be fixed immediately. The invoice is available with me and was shown to the sales person. When asked about reimbursement, he said he can not do anything about this Invoice. - On 30th April, the AC stopped working again and started blowing regular air. Sales person was notified and he took the car on May 2. - The car was returned by Sales person on May 4 mentioning they have check it thoroughly and found no issues with the AC. - I requested Sales person to show it to Hyundai Abbotsford at my own cost to find out if there is an issue. He agreed. - On 7th May, the earliest appointment available at Hyundai, they found both AC Condensor and AC line faulty and conveyed the parts to be replaced. I requested the sales person to get it repaired with genuine Hyundai parts but he disagreed saying it’s costly and he would get it done locally through his own mechanic. They replaced the parts which Hyundai discovered that one of them was an old part they replaced. This also shows that SMS Motors is not interested in professional genuine repairs by Hyundai and is again doing a cheap make-shift arrangement. I had to do spend the following because of the false claims made. I have all the Invoices available in case someone needs to verify. $430.66 - Rotors & Brake Pads Cost $135.47 - Tire Key Nut Set Cost $218.97 - Diagnostics Cost by Hyundai After I warned them about the legal proceedings, they paid me this cost. After a few days, the AC stopped working. Brought the car to them again. The sales person agreed that it is not working and advised again to get it checked from Abbotsford Hyundai at their cost. When I brought it to Hyundai, that day it was working (may be SMS motors did some temporary fix that day). Shockingly, SMS Motors told Hyundai that customer will pay ($321) for diagnosis. I told them I will observe the car for a few days and inform them. As expected the AC broke down once again and stayed like that until now (Aug 6, 2025). Informed them, no response or action from them until today as you can see in the picture shared. This is a clear case of scamming the buyer by selling a defective vehicle, by making false claims about the vehicle. The vehicle inspection report done by SMS Motors, does not mention any of these issues at all and I was sold the vehicle as “completely fit to ride” vehicle. Be careful before you buy from them.
